We’re OctoSide, a dark-folk wave duo from Turin, Italy, composed by Mari, voice and piano, and Derek, guitar.

In 2016, we released our first EP Ended Plays: four dark-rock songs influenced by traditional folk and murder ballads, ideally creating a sort of movie soundtrack for each of the stories. Let’s say it is a good picture of our experiences up to that moment.
We spent most of 2017 in Stockholm, and we played in very different situations, sometimes accompanied by other musicians, always receiving genuine enthusiasm from the audience. It was a very rewarding experience. We had the chance to grow, experiment and develop our project into something more focused and personal.
We are currently composing/recording new songs and getting ready to hit the road again. We are exploring a more dark and experimental path. We aim to play with basic percussions (trip hop/new wave style) and be just the two of us (voice, guitar, stage piano, effects) for a more intimate and intense live experience. We always keep the door open also to acoustic gigs.
We are honest and original in what we do. Give us the chance to let you hear a preview or just have a chat with us if it sounds interesting!
